The “Mural Trail”, with Lake County inspired murals (from themes on natural resources, culture, history etc.), include several within the City of Lakeport. The murals in Lakeport are a joint project between the Rural Arts Initiative, The City of Lakeport, The Lake County Arts Council, and The Lakeport Main Street Association.
Only The Brave is located on the side of the fire station located at 445 N. Main Street, Lakeport. For Lakeport, the first mural was ONLY THE BRAVE, by Ben vanSteenburgh III, on the fire station to honor our firefighters and was donated by the Lake County Arts Council.
The second mural commissioned by the Lake County Rural Arts Initiative is up and its spectacular! The murals, located at the Kelseyville and Lakeport fire stations, honor the tireless work and bravery of local firefighters who have been some of the busiest in California since 2015.Mike McGuire, Senator, State of California
